How to Unlock All Gliders in Enshrouded

Introduction to Gliders

Gliders are essential mobility tools in Enshrouded that allow you to traverse the massive open world efficiently. With the extensive map in Enshrouded, gliders become invaluable for covering large distances, descending from heights safely, and exploring hard-to-reach areas. There are four tiers of gliders, each offering improved performance and capabilities.

All Glider Types

Enshrouded features four different gliders:

Basic Glider - Craftable early game at Workbench
Advanced Glider - Requires Carpenter NPC
Extraordinary Glider - Late game, requires multiple crafting stations
Ghost Glider - Special quest reward with unique crafting

Basic Glider (Tier 1)

Recipe Requirements:

Crafting Station: Workbench

Materials Needed:

2x String
2x Animal Fur
2x Shroud Spores
8x Shroud Wood

How to Get Materials:

String

Recipe: Plant Fiber → String

Collect Plant Fiber from small bushes
Bushes found in grassy areas everywhere
Very common resource

Animal Fur

Sources:

Loot from dead animals (deer, wolves, bears)
Found in tents while exploring the world
Hunt wildlife for consistent drops
Common early-game material

Shroud Spores

How to Obtain:

Dropped by shroud enemies when defeated
Farm enemies within the Shroud (purple fog areas)
2 spores needed for basic glider (easy to get)

Shroud Wood (Most Important)

Chopping Shroud Wood

Where to Find:

Only found inside deep shroud areas
Look for trees still standing in the Shroud
Regular Wood Logs are everywhere, but Shroud Wood is special

How to Collect:

Enter deep shrouded areas
Find shrouded trees (dead/corrupted looking trees)
Chop these trees with your axe
They drop Shroud Wood instead of regular Wood Logs
Need 8 Shroud Wood for your first glider

Important Notes:

While regular wood can be found almost anywhere
Shroud Wood can only be found in deep shroud zones
Bring Shroud Survival Flasks for longer farming time
Mark Shroud Wood tree locations on your map

To craft the Workbench first:

Workbench Recipe:

3x String (from Plant Fiber)
8x Wood Logs (chop normal trees)

Where to Place: Your base area

How to Use the Glider

Equipping Your Glider:

Equipping Glider

Step-by-Step:

Open your Character tab (Inventory)
Find the Glider equipment slot
Click the empty Glider slot
Equip your crafted Glider

Activating the Glider:

Controls:

Jump once - Normal jump
Jump again while in air - Deploy glider

Detailed Steps:

Run towards a cliff or high point
Press jump to leap off
Press jump again while airborne
Glider deploys automatically

Flying Controls:

PC Controls:

A and D keys - Steer left and right (NOT mouse)
W key (Forward) - Plunge downwards
Right Mouse Button - Close glider mid-flight
Directional keys - Change direction

Controller (Xbox/Gamepad):

Left Stick - Steer and control direction
B Button - Close glider
Much more intuitive than keyboard controls

Important Control Notes:

Glider control is more intuitive with gamepad
On PC, use directional keys (A/D), not mouse
Pressing Forward makes you dive down
Cannot gain altitude - gliders only descend
Avoid pressing forward unless intentional dive

Glider Mechanics:

Stamina Drain:

Gliding slowly drains stamina
Not fast, but continuous
Don’t glide with low stamina - you’ll fall and die
Ensure decent stamina before long glides

Landing:

Crash into cliffs or ground while glider is active
No fall damage if glider is deployed
Character automatically rolls on impact
Safe landing guaranteed with active glider

Duration:

Glider stays open until you close it (right-click/B button)
Or until you land/crash
Can glide very long distances with enough height
